Family
Family photos capture the love, joy, and essence of our lives, creating a treasured legacy for generations to come.
Preparing for your family session
Preparing for a family photo session doesn't have to be stressful. The goal is to capture your family’s unique connection, so the more relaxed you are, the better the photos will look!
Here is a short guide to getting ready:
1. Coordinate, Don’t Match
Instead of everyone wearing the same white shirt and jeans, aim for a cohesive color palette.
Pick a base: Start with one person’s outfit (often Mom’s dress or a patterned shirt) and pull colors from there for everyone else.
Mix textures: Use knits, denim, or linen to add depth.
Avoid big logos: Large graphics or neon colors can be distracting and date the photos quickly.
2. Timing and Comfort
Naps and Snacks: For kids, make sure they are well-rested and fed right before the session. Bring "mess-free" snacks (like Cheerios or grapes) just in case.
Comfort is King: If your kids feel itchy or stiff in their clothes, it will show on their faces. Choose soft fabrics and comfortable shoes.
3. Manage Expectations
Keep it playful: Don't worry about everyone looking at the camera and smiling perfectly at the same time. The best shots are often the "in-between" moments—laughing, hugging, or walking together.
Be the "Hype Person": If you stay upbeat and calm, your kids will mirror that energy. If you’re stressed about their behavior, they’ll feel it!
